Save Our Community Association!
(Note: This appeal was from March, 2024. The campaign was a success, and we are grateful to our Members and Residents who have been supporting us over the year! This page will be updated soon – but for now we don’t want to lose sight of how much hard work has brought us from where we were one year ago until today.)
Dear Hidden Valley & Hanson Ranch Residents,
We are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea for support to ensure the future of our beloved Hidden Valley Community Association (HVCA).
The HVCA is the backbone of our community, organizing local events (Sounds & Spirits), sports (hockey, soccer, baseball), and maintaining essential amenities like planters, porta pottys, and repainting the horses. However, we are faced with a critical challenge. Out of 4,000 households, only a small fraction, around 100-150, currently hold HVCA memberships. This is less than 5% of our community population.
Without increased support, the HVCA will close its doors after our Annual General Meeting at the end of this summer. This would mean the loss of vital assets that benefit us all, including the outdoor rink, community events, sports programs, flowerpots, and future playground revitalization projects.
Here’s how you can make a difference:
- Purchase your Membership: For only $30 annually, you can become a HVCA member and directly contributes to the funding of community events and beautification projects. It’s an easy way to support your neighbourhood and its initiatives.
- Volunteer with Us: Join the Board or become a coordinator for ongoing projects. We need 10 new Board members, including a president, and 10 coordinators. Additionally, we’re looking for 30 volunteers to support our community initiatives. Contact us at info@hiddenhut.org to help out.
- Spread the Word: Talk to your neighbors, friends, and family about the importance of supporting the HVCA. Encourage them to join as members and get involved. Together, we can build a stronger and more united community.
Our community’s involvement and financial support directly impact the programs and services we provide. Without increased memberships and volunteer capacity, we may need to hand over our assets to the City, including the outdoor rink and other amenities.
We have set specific goals to measure community commitment.
We need:
- 10 new Board members (including President)
- 10 coordinators for various roles (including Sports)
- 30 volunteers
- 2,000 memberships and/or $60,000 in donations.
Your support will determine whether we can continue operating.
Purchase a membership, volunteer your time, and spread the word. Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive community for all.
Let’s keep the spirit of community alive!
Sincerely,
2024 HVCA Board
